With over 25 years experience of working in commercial architecture, DDC offer a complete range of architectural and consultancy services including conservation, restoration, building design, management and planning. We have experience in the design of mixed use commercial and industrial developments. Projects include the proposed redevelopment of Colchester Town Centre, Business Park in Welwyn, Residential over supermarkets and commercial building in Central London.

We are a business-minded practice with a practical, positive approach to architecture. We Have experience of working overseas and have designed Villas in Saudi Arabia for Sheik Bin Laden, a house in Camden Drive, Beverly Hills, and Large residential developments in Xi’an and Shanghai China.
Our commercial client’s expect a responsive service from a company that understands the risks they are undertaking and the consequence of delays and missing deadlines. Having completed our own development projects, we are fully aware of the need to balance quality design with commercial budgets and of the importance of delivering on time. We pride ourselves on our ability to be flexible and achieve value for our clients without compromise.
We are a small flexible design practice and charge our services either on pre-agreed day rates or on a fee percentage, for larger full service contracts. We understand the importance of and the need to be responsive and flexible and we are happy to tailor the services we offer to suit your requirements. We aim to:

We can offer clients with a full architect’s service from inception to project completion or a partial service to obtain planning and building regulations approval. The decision on which level of service to choose may be determined by the size and scope of the project.
At DDC we work closely with Structural Engineers, Planning Consultants, Quantity Surveyors, Arboriculturalists and other Building Professionals to provide a complete building design service.
THE FUTURE - Supporting Passive Construction, energy is not getting any cheaper!
Passive House construction is a very energy-efficient and environmentally conscious building method that has been in use Europe with more than 15,000 buildings built or retrofit to its standards over the last decade. Only a few Passive houses have been built in the UK.
The driving force behind the Passive House movement has been to significantly reduce the energy required to heat and operate a house or other building while still maintaining a comfortable & healthful environment that is also affordable. Passive House is not a specific type of building like straw bale or earth sheltered. It can be built with normal stick frame construction, or Structurally Insulated Panels, or some other method, as long as that method meets the prescribed requirements of Passive House. This gives designers and builders leeway to explore new methods.
